From June 2-4 Frans Wijsen and Frans Dokman participated in the conference “Living in a Changing World: Religion, Ecology, and Responsibility. Decolonising Research Methodologies”. The event took place in Bukittinggi, Sumatra, and was organised by the NICMCR (Netherlands-Indonesian Consortium for Muslim-Christian Relations) and the Sjech M. Djamil Djambek University in Sumatra.
The inspiration for the conference is the quest for re-centring of methodologies, grounded on the conviction that in todays’ changing world there is no place for an absolute methodology that functions as an universal criteria in disregard of other forms of rationality. With this as background we look back on a fruitful gathering of meaningful exchanges between new and known peers.
